My ESE Math and Reading classroom is filled with talents and students with various exceptional abilities, cultures, backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses and experiences. Some students are extroverts, while others prefer to work alone without communicating or collaborating with others. Although every one of my students is unique and each displays different strengths and weaknesses of varying levels, they all still face several disadvantages, most notably in the fact that most of the students in our school come from a low-income household. Our listening center is in dire need of headphones that have a mic feature. The microphone enables them to respond online when completing assessments or interactive activities. We need a class set of headphones to accommodate each group when we have listening centers. Our class also needs a carpet, so that students who prefer an alternate seating arrangement, can work from the carpet instead of the bare floor.
