Hello everyone! My name is Amber Norris and I am a Middle School Science teacher from Florida. I had the life-changing experience of going to Iceland for the first time last year. I found that while I was there, I was taking narrated videos of myself studying the amazing science that is all around Iceland and that really cannot be found anywhere else. I used these videos while teaching my students about plate tectonics, energy sources, and changes in climate including human impact. When I came back from my trip, all I could think of is how amazing it would be to take students to Iceland and show them in person! We will be doing a Scientific Study in Iceland! My student ambassadors will be able to study first-hand the effects of plate tectonics as we visit and stand on a plate boundary, hike a volcano, visit hot springs and geysers including Geysir which all other geysers are named after! We will also be studying how to reduce our carbon footprint by studying renewable energy in Iceland and hiking a glacier. Any donation can help us on our adventure!
