My project is designed for students in my Advanced Quantitative Reasoning class. This class is an alternative to Pre-Calculus and mainly designed for students who are still building a solid foundation for mathematics that they may not have fully grasped from their earlier Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry classes. Many of these students have a desire to go into a STEM field after high school but lack the mathematics foundation needed to begin their future STEM careers. My project is an ongoing semester project for these students in particular. This project utilizes the ALEKS program provided by McGraw-Hill Education. This program is designed for students to hone the skills and concepts taught within the various topics of the AQR course. It helps them become proficient with basic Algebra and Geometry concepts and builds their knowledge as they progress through the various topics. Because ALEKS is self-paced, students are able to progress at a pace that is comfortable for them without the pressure of deadlines. I have seen an improvement in student understanding with ALEKS; however, my class must share computers with other classes in the math department. Having additional computers for my students will greatly alleviate the issue of not having enough computers to go around
