By using LEGO Mindstorms in the classroom, my students would get firsthand experience with coding, engineering, and cooperative teamwork. Many of my special education students express an interest with computers and robotics and would really benefit from an experience like this where they take a project from start to finish. Students would be able to choose their robot to design, and work through the design process towards the end goal. They will also learn basics of computer programming to provide commands to the robot. This product could be the start of a life long passion for many of these students.
