My student is highly impacted by Autism and Downs Syndrome. He lacks the fine motor skills to manuever a mouse or to navigate a touch pad. In order to gain greater independence in his learning, he will greatly benefit from the use of a touch screen to select online answers and to use the interactive reading tools that he requires to learn. In addition to the challenges he faces with fine motor skills, he is also a non-verbal student who desperately needs to find his voice. Once he learns how to navigate the Chromebook, he will be able to work on his spelling and vocabulary so that I can help him to become a reader. He is a high school student who is a beginning reader. I want to hear him ask for what he needs.
