The materials I chose for my project will be used as read aloud stories for first grade students in an urban classroom setting. These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My students love to see multicultural characters that they can relate to. With these new books, students will be able to make text to self connections and explore the world around us. Storytime is always engaging. It also increases students reading ability and will help them to develop a love for reading. Storytime is when we discuss and make connections to the stories we hear.
