These instruments will provide my students with the ability to learn and experience music in ways that could never be possible without them. They will learn to play in group settings and in solo settings, as well as, how to keep a steady beat, rhythmic ostinato patterns, and call and response playing. "Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life" -Berthold Auerbach. This quote rings true to many of my students who use music as a way to express and release the battles they encounter everyday. This will be the first time many of my students will play or learn an instrument and would be an incredible opportunity for our music class.
