All of my students are curious and love to be hands-on. Having these items will provide my students with different modalities of learning. As an educator, this allows me the chance to push in with my students to promote language development and social-emotional learning. For example, when we play with the stacking blocks in a group session( thanks to your generous donation), the blocks can be divided up evenly and then used to build a tower by placing blocks on top of each other one by one as a group to practice their speech sounds. Or, the children can add blocks to build the tower to show that they have added a comment, question, or connection to a conversation. Studies show that sensory play supports language development, cognitive growth, fine and gross motor skills, problem-solving skills, and social interaction. This type of play aids in developing and enhancing memory. Sensory play is great for calming an anxious or frustrated child. Donating these table toys will add extra excitement to students learning and their ability to build social and emotional skills.
