I am requesting an iPad to screen mirror my examples as well as use it as a tool for my students to conduct their own research. This project will help me with technology needs in my classroom. Specifically, the iPad will help me with the new eHall pass initiative as well as help me screen mirror examples to my students. Most importantly, it will help students discover knowledge about themselves on the website viacharacter.org. An activity I will do with my students is the Discovering your 5 Signature Strengths. Students can use the iPad to complete a survey on viacharacter.org. They will then make a poster board or Google Slide highlighting their top 5 strengths. The students will define their strength, tell me how they currently use their strength in their daily life as well as how they can use each strength in a new way in the future. I will also screen mirror my results to show students how to properly complete the survey and complete the project. People who are simply aware of their strengths are nine times more likely to flourish compared to those who do not know their strengths. (FS. 1.1.1, 1.2.1) People who apply their strengths in their lives are 18 times more likely to flourish. Why wait until students are adults for them to discover their strengths and superpowers? The journey starts now!
