Exercise releases feel good chemicals in your brain such as endorphins which can give students a mood boost. These basketball hoops can make the students feel empowered and accomplished which in turn will give them self-confidence. As the students achieve better self-esteem there social and emotional confidence will carry over in their classrooms. Physical activity has not only physical benefits. It also has a very big impact on social-emotional and cognitive aspects of my students lives. The development of a physically active lifestyle is a goal of mine and my students. By promoting physical, social and emotional health through exercise and participating in sports the students will be able to develop healthy living habits that provide benefits such as coordination, self confidence, self image and physical fitness. The exercise from the basketball hoops will help the students burn calories in the body, manage emotions, improve their energy levels, have discipline, develop leadership skills, and create great relationships with other students. The basketball hoops will make my students better all around community members in East Orange.
