Distant Learning has been a trying time for not only for the adults but the students also. Through contacts with my students and their families, I have come to realize students are in need of routines and items we used in the classroom. Many students do not even have the basic supply of a pencils. The items requested are to bring a sense of normalcy to my students lives. During this time I need to support my students by giving them some of the routines and comforts of school. Each day at school, my students enjoyed snack time while reading or practicing math facts. With having the snack and books, my students can recreate some of our routines from our school day. The use of whiteboards will help me see exactly what students are doing and they provide a great place for student show their work. Students can practice their work as well as use these white boards when we meet virtually. The collection of books will allow use to meet together as a whole group and allow me to have small group chats with books at their own level when we meet virtually or on the phone.
