The students in my classroom need alternative areas to choose within the classroom setting to meet their individual learning needs and be successful. Sitting at a traditional desk and chair all day can be tough at 6 years old. Many of my students struggle to remain focused throughout the day and require movement. Maybe they need to bounce on a ball at their seat to promote creative thinking or wiggle while they work to stay focused, releasing some extra energy, or just sit comfortably on the floor but have a good writing surface to do their best work. Providing choice throughout the class day ensures student success and happiness. These tools would help the students to reach their greatest potential.
