The materials I will be able to create with the Cricut will allow me to add and enhance the collection of instructional games and hands-on materials I create for my students making them more eye-catching and engaging. It will assist me in providing differentiated instruction, an effective strategy used to attend to the learning needs of students. This resource will allow me to set up, decorate, and create learning stations where I will provide individual instructional games or tasks that match my students' needs. While students are at stations, I will be able to provide them with explicit instruction in the areas that data indicates they need instruction on. This ability to use differentiated instruction and align learning to standards helps ensure that a higher level of learning is attained by my students. My students are extremely visual, hands-on learners, who need to learn in small groups. They need to be engaged in learning through creative and innovative ways. Engaging students in learning phonics, spelling, developing comprehension, as well as vocabulary and math skills through the use of stations and teacher-directed instruction allows students to move at their pace towards mastery. I enjoy seeing the learning that is occurring and the on-task behavior that these instructional activities allow my students to have where otherwise they would be completely off task and unmotivated to learn. It's amazing how a non-preferred task becomes engaging and behaviors diminish as learning increases through the use of these stations.
