Remember going to your brightly colored classroom rug and sitting in your favorite spot? Having a new classroom rug will provide a comfortable space for students to come to and learn during instructional time. Our current rug is extremely faded, old, and fraying badly. Students will be able to quickly find their rug spot based on the letters on the rug, saving more time for learning. Learning is more likely to happen to students when they are comfortable! The carpet will also be used for curling up into a good book during independent reading and read-aloud, in addition to practicing fluency, working with math manipulatives, and whole group learning. It will also bring our classroom to life while the bright colors in comparison to our dull worn out wooden floors. I can already see the excitement in my student's faces when they see their new rug.
