As a reading teacher, I like to use books as a creative tool to teach valuable life lessons, and this year, "Restart" by Gordon Korman seemed like the perfect fit. Many of my fifth graders are beginning to feel anxious as they approach the end of one chapter in their life and prepare for a new chapter. I want my students to start middle school with a fresh outlook. To walk into their new school with confidence knowing they can be whoever they want to be regardless of their past. Overcoming challenges and realizing that anything is possible are two of the main themes in the book Restart. With your help, I would love to provide a copy of the book to each of my students to serve as a reminder of these important life lessons.
