This project will provide my students with flexible/ alternative seating options. Currently, my students may choose to sit at their desks, other tables, on the floor with a clipboard, or choose to stand while they complete independent work. My students are much more engaged and focused when they are given the opportunity to choose where they work. My current seating options are not the most comfortable or efficient for my students; that is why I have started this project. The bean bags, saucer chair, and scoop chairs are wonderful options for my students for they can easily move them around the room to wherever they feel comfortable working. The wobble stool, yoga balls, and cushions would greatly benefit my students who just need to wiggle while they work. I have witnessed how flexible seating can impact work habits, independence, and the overall learning in a classroom, and I would love to provide my students with this opportunity.
