My students are learning Author's Point of View for ELA. In our current class curriculum there is an excerpt of the novel Esperanza Raising, which teaches my students point of view. There are similarities in this book that my students will find relatable as well as historically significate to our community located in the San Joaquin Valley. Having a class set will allow my students interact with the text at a deeper level, thus learning point of view and other skills. This novel is culturally relevant to my students and I feel they will really enjoy reading it!
