The student in my class come from poverty homes where reading is not emphasized. In my classroom I want my students to see that they can become readers at 3, 4, and 5 years old. I need good age-appropriate books, that my higher readers can read to my younger students and lower readers. As these students see their friends reading, they themselves will start to imitate and eventually be able to read themselves. The books I picked are fiction and non-fiction books that will help my students grow with their reading and vocabulary skills that they are not getting from home.
