I am the librarian for a small elementary school. There has not been a permanent librarian in the school for at least three or more years and this is my first year here. We have very little updated library resources for our students to check out at this time. If my school library is funded for this project, I will be able to rebuild our library collection and replace books with the ones that I have weeded. I will also have appropriate grade level books to pair up with my library lessons; and new books to offer to my students. The materials I am requesting for my students will make a difference in my students just looking at pictures and actually reading. Many of my students are below reading level and I want to meet them where they are while increasing literacy and inspiring a true love for reading.
