We are fortunate enough to be one-to-one with iPads in our classroom. Osmo Kits will enhance our current math curriculum. We use the Math Expressions program, and each chapter has certain Osmo activities that go with it, such as fraction and money counting practice in the Osmo Pizza Company Game. Students could work together to complete these activities on their iPads if we had the Osmo Kits, enriching our math instruction. In addition, students will build 21st Century skills such as collaboration, creativity, critical thinking and communication while integrating technology. A variety of word play activities will add to our literacy program. For example, students can practice building words and solving word puzzles in Osmo Words, increasing their vocabulary and spelling skills. Movement breaks not only allow children to get their wiggles out, but also energize students and increases their ability to focus. Ball-a-Vis provides the necessary movement breaks, while also encouraging cooperation, promoting self-challenge and fostering peer teaching. Students would use the hand balls to complete cross-body movements that help increase brain development.
