The items that I am asking help with are for my students that are all on the Autism Spectrum. Most of them all have a sensory processing disorder that can affect their learning process. The items that I have requested will help to establish an organized sensory area for the children to retreat to when they are sensory overloaded. For example; The balance beam will help in centering and grounding them, where as the music instruments will help with the crossover movements that”jump-start” their brains. Their brains operate in ways that a typical brain can’t comprehend. Although it may look confusing, it is so rewarding to see a child come back to life after a sensory melt down. With your help, this will become a real possibility for my kiddos! I am passionate about giving these children the same opportunity as the typically developing child. Thank you in advance for feeling my passion and contributing to my sensory learning area!
