My students have so many struggles in life, having to struggle to be still in one place shouldn't always have to be one of them. Flexible seating allows my students to take charge of their learning and make choices about where learning works best for them. Flexible seating gives my students the independence they crave, while still allowing them the chance to be children. Since beginning to implement flexible seating in my classroom, I have noticed an increase in student engagement, and a marked decrease in undesired behavior and disruptions. My students usually make good decisions about where to sit, pay attention and are engaged and participate, take good care of all materials, and turn in more work than when they are only made to sit at their desks. The products I have selected will allow more flexible seating options, resulting in more effective learning choices. The stools are adjustable and can allow students to still sit at desks or tables, but also allow for more movement, which will allow students to get their wiggles out! The floor seats will allow for additional comfortable seating on the floor and are lightweight to be used in any area of the room. I have already seen how my students have responded to be allowed the choices, I only hope these additional options will help us grow even more!
