I am always trying to find ways to make my classroom better and more organized, and also to provide ways to give students access to certain materials. I want these materials in their reach, and to make the room more interactive! Currently, for example, I have a "mood meter" where students place sticks with their names on it into a bucket describing their mood. I have this along with some pencil cups and instrument rosins and no good place to store it - for now it is all along the bottom tray of the white board. I want to fill an empty space in the room where I think a shelving unit like this would be perfect. I may find other ways to utilize the space for students as well. I am also asking for donations to buy some bouncy bands, which will ease some of the wiggle needs of my ADHD students. Unfortunately, fidget toys are not an option in an orchestra classroom since we are actively using our hands with instruments. I bet that the bouncy bands will benefit certain students greatly!
