Students are encouraged to read 25-30 books per year. For many of my students, the only books they access are in my classroom. Each year I replenish my library with books that reflect my students, but each year, more amazing titles come out that give voice to more diverse experiences. Every student in my classroom should have the chance to see their experiences reflected in a handful of books in the library. Moreover, all of my students should get access to the variety of voices that literature has to offer. Help my students to pick up a book that lets them see the world through familiar eyes or opens them up to a world of experience they might never know otherwise. Help us create a classroom library that reflects the world they live in.
