Many of my students have sensory needs that require frequent breaks and sensory play. Sensory play supports language development, cognitive growth, fine and gross motor skills, problem solving skills, and social interaction. This play aids in developing and enhancing memory. Sensory play is great for calming an anxious or frustrated child. Some of my students need sensory tools to be able to concentrate and actively participate in learning . . . both inside and outside of the classroom. With the support of these sensory items, my students will have outlets to self-soothe and regulate their emotions. These little bodies have so much going on and we want to support them in the learning process!
