Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and have options other than a desk. During independent work times I would like to allow students to choose a location in the classroom that works for them. This year I've been borrowing a couple of floor desks from a colleague, and the students absolutely love using them! They are always in high demand and students are disappointed when they are not selected to use one. I need a set of my own to ensure more students have the choice. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given the choice of where to sit. The floor desks I've chosen will ensure that any students who prefer to sit somewhere other than their desk will have the option to do so. The floor desks are portable and can be used anywhere in the classroom, and can support books, workbooks, chromebooks, or anything else the students are using for a lesson. If the project is funded I will have enough floor seating for half my class, which means the other half who choose to sit at desks will have less distraction. This option will also alow students to be more spread out in the space of our classroom.
