If my project gets fully funded, I plan to use the materials to better my students learning environment. My students thrive in an environment where they are comfortable and can move freely in their seats. I have students who need to wiggle, fidget, bounce, or even stand in order to maintain their focus and engagement. I want to give back to my students by giving them the learning environment they deserve. Flexible seating will allow my students the option to thrive in their learning. Currently, my students sit on a small rug that seats about 12 of my 23 students, a rug that also curls in the corners and is bounded by duct tape at the seams. They sit in hard, metal chairs at their desks. Our reading corner consists of a few pillows and a chair that they're always fighting for because they have such a desire for comfort in our room. I will use the materials to add to our reading corner. I will use wobble cushions so students are more comfortable at their seats, especially for students who have a hard time staying focused and on task. I will use ball seats at our kidney table so students are comfortable when working in a small group setting. I'd like to use the wobble chairs for our circle table where we do small group work or stations.
