We are asking for supplies for 3 Kinder classrooms for an upcoming science unit. This is an all new experience for our school to bring the excitement of hatching chicks and watching them grow right in our classrooms! Our students will have the opportunity to watch the chicks hatch from their eggs and will be observing and learning daily from their personal experiences. Students learn best from hands on and real life experiences; learning about chicks and watching them hatch will be memorable! Our students will be learning all about chicks, their needs, and their lifecycle with cross-curricular ties to language arts, social studies, and math! Students will apply the scientific process as they make daily observations, predictions, monitor the incubator's temperature and humidity, and record them into their science journals. Watching the eggs over the course of 21 days until hatch day is very exciting, especially in the eyes of our Kindergarteners! Acquiring all the supplies for this project will positively impact many more classes in the future, as they experience the wonder and excitement of hatching chicks!
