My students are loving learning to read! Each day, the students have time to read and practice. The books will be introduced to the children in small groups. After practicing with their teacher, the books will be used for continued practice, building the children's independent reading skills. At the early reading levels, students need a large variety of books because they devour them quickly! Each student has a box of books they read from daily. That practice develops their accuracy of reading words correctly, their fluency, and their comprehension...as well as their LOVE OF BOOKS! The books in this request will support early reading behaviors such as directionality, letter-sound relationships, and development of meaning, as well as discussion and observation.
