Giving students the opportunity to express themselves is one of the reasons why music education is so important! My students are always interested in picking up new instruments, but the most commonly requested instrument that my students want to learn is the piano. They are always playing the one piano I have in my classroom, so I'd love to be able to provide them with some of their own so that they could learn it! I teach in an urban school district and I am always looking for ways to engage my students and tailor their learning to each student. This means having many different instrumental opportunities.
