My high school students are in a sewing class. We want to use our skills to make a personalized reading pillow for each kindergartner in our elementary school. We want to support their excitement about learning to read by giving them a pillow and book to take home with them when school lets out for the summer. This project will give my high school students an opportunity to provide a much needed service while honing their sewing skills. Please support literacy and service by helping us to purchase the books to go with our pillows. We are using our class budget to buy fabric, but need help purchasing the books. Each book has been chosen with a specific kindergartner in mind. The high school students spent time interviewing each kindergarten child so they can personalize this gift. We would really appreciate your help and support in obtaining this selection of books. We want to thank you in advance for deciding to support our project. Reading is such and important ability and we want our kindergarten kids to feel empowered by their emerging skills. We also want them to know that we think they are special. By creating a connection between high school and kindergartner students, we strengthen the ties that bind the schools together. It is a win, win for both schools. Thanks so much for supporting us.
