“The limits of my language mean the limits of my world” Ludwig Wittgenstein. Although there are only 3 classroom computers in my room, my students eagerly wait for their turn to use them to research more information about different topics. One of those websites is BrainPOP, this site has so much to offer, they enjoy the videos of Tim and Moby about Presidents, snakes, Holidays and point of view. All of which are for the most part very difficult concepts for my English Language Learners to understand. We usually use the free BrainPOP videoclips to introduce new topics in many content-based areas like science and social studies. However, they could be using this website to improve their language skills; the BrainPOP ESL component would give them an amazing opportunity to practice vocabulary, pronunciation, writing and grammar. I would be able to assign the students to interactive lessons that increase their language, reading comprehension and fluency skills. This could be a literacy station for my students that will increase their English language and allows them to use the technology needed to be successful in the 21 century classroom.
