Our students are invited to present proposals for projects or activities that they believe will benefit our students, our school, our community, or the world at large. Based on recent student proposals, we began offering a Chess Club for our students as an extracurricular​ after-school activity. During their research, students learned that playing chess develops brain functioning, raises IQ, increases problem-solving skills and creativity, improves spatial skills and memory, and teaches planning and foresight among many other things. Our hope is that by offering this club to our students, we will build stronger social relationships among our participants and develop positive habits that will benefit our students both in and outside of the game of chess.
