I can only imagine, through remote learning, how frustrating it must be for adolescents to not be able to clearly see the modeling done by performing arts teachers. The built-in cameras we use on our district laptops don't capture the dynamic movement and dance necessary for remote Theater instruction. A portable video camera would support a wider range for recording and teaching synchronously. I also can't imagine not seeing all 72 students during our Zoom classes, due to the size limitations of digital classroom grids. A large computer monitor would allow us to see more of the students on the screen as they perform scenes and monologues, and collaborate virtually. We will not limit the high quality virtual performing arts instruction our students deserve.
