Since the fiction area in the library is a frequently visited section in the library, and we are getting 300+ 6th graders next year, I would really like to continue building this part of the collection with some new high interest titles. Recently, I weeded the fiction area of my library. There were many titles that hadn't been check out in years, and the weeded books were in bad shape. The titles that I have selected, I feel, will be great additions. I made sure they had at least 2 quality reviews from library magazines, and that they are also of high interest to readers. I also chose some titles that are in Spanish because we are getting more and more Spanish speaking students each year, and this is an area in my library that I need to develop. I feel it is important to support all readers, and the titles I chose will help with the support.
