The term, Summer Slide, refers to a decline in reading and other academic skills during the summer months. The Summer slide especially affects students from low-income households since there is limited access to resources. My students have made substantial academic gains this year and I would like them to maintain this over the summer. If my students do not read and practice math skills daily, they will slide back and lose the progress they have made. My students have worked so hard this year, I would hate for that to happen. These books will allow my students to review and practice skills and prevent the summer slide. Through your kind donations, I would love the opportunity to present each one of my students a summer educational activity book.
