My students are full of energy, compassion and joy. They never cease to surprise me with their honest reflections and desires to support one another and grow. They extend each other grace and celebrate everyone's successes. We know that making mistakes is part of life, and work to help each other embrace where we are and improve. Students name goals, both academically and behaviorally, and then track their own progress as we move forward. Most of my students come from homes with difficult backgrounds, being asked to learn and try their best while going through experiences no child should face. They are the kindest, most hardworking group you will ever meet. Their faces are what give me the motivation to get up every day, knowing we can break the cycle and give them a brighter future.
