My students are in need of a diverse selection of books. My students are second language learners, and the class set will give the opportunity for students to improve and practice their second language. For many, English is not spoken at home and they are not likely to have reading materials in English. There are many students with different preferences and backgrounds. This classroom library will give students the opportunity to find the books they will fall in love with. Reading is emphasized in my classroom because it allows for students to understand the outside world and different perspectives. Reading also allows them to escape from their routine.
