The materials will be used in small groups to help build better readers and writers. These tools will allow students to apply the use of phonics when decoding words in reading and using inventive spelling in writing. As a teacher, I will use the materials in my small group instruction to introduce new sounds and implementing this knowledge through word study, sorts, reading and in writing. After introducing the sounds and other activities, the materials will be used by students independently in order for students to create meaning in learning new skills.
