Our library, for many years, has been underfunded. This has been a statewide problem. Because of this, many of our books have been donated from other schools getting rid of old books or from private individuals. Kids don't really want to read an "old book" even if it is a terrific classic novel. My students are hungry for new and interesting books to read, both fiction and non-fiction. Many of my students do not have books in their homes. Our small town doesn't even have a public library. Access to resources is severely limited, but our students do have the desire to learn. Please consider helping us to get more books that are new and exciting for students to read. It will be like a magic carpet ride for their minds! Reading brings a spark of magic!
