Having the ability to do hands-on activities is vital for classrooms, especially young new language learners. It helps keep the students interacting with the lesson and makes them feel accomplished. In my classroom, I like to achieve this goal by giving them handouts, that they cut out and glue into their interactive notebooks, which they then use to study. Doing these activities in my class has proven to be very difficult, due to the fact that each of my classes that consists of 35-40 students must share 10 dull scissors. Not to mention that currently, we only have 8 glue sticks left, occasionally leaving us with the option of having to tape in their work, which is even more time-consuming. By donating to our project, you will help my students accomplish their activities in an effective manner, without them having to wonder when it will be their turn. Instead, they will be able to finish quickly and allow me more time to give the lesson and answer more questions to ensure their academic goals. Having color and pictures in notes is more effective than a significant amount of handwriting, which is sometimes hard to read or not complete, due to being a slow writer. Learning a new language already comes with its own obstacles. I would like my students to be able to go to a page on their interactive notebook and immediately recognize the topic, rather than adding to their list of worries and spend three minutes trying to figure out where I am. I hope with the possibility of completing their work independently they will stress less and continue with this newfound excitement to learn a language!
