Music class is the time to enjoy and learn the skills of playing instruments. My 5th graders are old enough and mature enough to be skilled performers and I want to give them an opportunity to be playing instruments they want. Ukulele is one of the instruments they can learn in 5th grade and then apply that knowledge to other related instruments later on in their academic career. They not only learn through hands-on experience in class but also will be able to perform during concerts. They need to have that experience to grow as learners. They will compose songs and will perform them in class and share with each other. They will learn the notes and chords to play songs that they know.

About my class
