I am requesting funding in order to purchase a computer mouse and a pair of headphones for each of my 21 students. Students must use the trackpad on their Chromebooks to move their cursors and navigate websites; trackpads are not user friendly and overuse can cause pain in one's fingers and wrists. Therefore I believe a new computer mouse would be a useful tool that could increase my student's proficiency and comfort with navigating school online. I am also requesting funding for headphones. Many of my students have reported difficulty hearing during lessons and conversations with peers. A major obstacle is background noise. Many of my students are at home with siblings who are also on zoom calls as part of distance learning. There are also many younger siblings around, too. I believe that headphones can help my students better understand and focus during distance learning lessons.
