Our class will first begin our project by choosing a paint by numbers canvas. They will each need an individual watercolor paint tray as well, as small cups with water and a paintbrush, and the paint by number scenes for part one of our art exploration. Part two of our art exploration will begin when our paint by number projects are complete. For part two students will replicate their paint by number picture using a free hand technique for their own watercolor painting. For part two they will need the watercolor paper, paintbrushes, and individual watercolor paint trays. Part three of our project students will once again be painting using the paint by number watercolor original as a model. In this project they will transfer painting knowledge with prior use in watercolor, to oil painting. They will need an 8X10 canvas, oil paints, and individual painter's palette and paint brushes.
