My students need a safe environment within our classroom, and my current storage situation isn’t ideal. I have three orange open shelves (that used to be book shelves, as my classroom was the old library) with navy curtains covering the stored items. For the most part I am able to keep my regular education students away from the materials, but my special education students are drawn right to them. They like to pull down the curtains and dive into the materials. I have always gone with “out of sight, out of mind” for the materials, but as I acquire more special education students, the storage situation is beginning to collapse. I’d like to keep my students safer in their favorite learning environment!
