Kids now days are so much into the digital world they rarely get to put their hands onto something and build. By suppling our class with Lego blocks and Magnetic building tiles it will give the kids the opportunity to develop and build a better understanding for shapes in the real world as well as the classroom. It will also give them the opportunity to be creative and build many different structures while also developing better social skills. Living in Salt Lake Valley causes us to have many bad air days with pollution. When we have these days the kids are not allowed to go outside and run and play. They have to stay in the classroom where we have limited supplies to entertain them. Many times we just end up having the kids watch a video. By suppling our class with the legos, magnetic blocks , and other supplies it will give the kids the chance to develop play skills as well as enhance understanding of shapes, building techniques, and step to accomplish building tasks.
