These materials will help me facilitate a portion of my class that encompasses physical workouts with the Criminal Justice curriculum. The students are learning about the body and promoting a healthy mind and a healthy body. The snacks are used to help the students refuel after working out. The students focus on stamina, endurance, and mental health by using physical activity to reduce stress. The students travel to Richmond Police Department and engage in activities with police officers and upon their return, they are hungry and need a little snack in order to recover and be able to focus for the rest of their lesson. The soccer balls, goals, and capture the flag game is all apart of what is needed to facilitate healthy conditioning for future officers. The class teaches students that in the field of law enforcement that they have to take care of their bodies and minds and what better way to do that than to be physically fit. Obesity is a big problem with this generation and these activities are doing their part in fighting the epidemic.
