Because I teach first grade, I wanted to choose some really fun S.T.E.M activities for my class. They love science, but would love more hands-on activities to teach them how the real world works, and how they can use it in their everyday lives. S.T.E.A.M incorporates the arts, as well, so I chose the Fairy Tale Problem Solving STEM kits that includes stories and art, as well as building bridges for the Three Billy Goats Gruff, houses that can't be blown down by the Big Bad Wolf, and sturdy furniture, that Goldilocks can't break! It will be so fun for the class to bridge the gap between stories and engineering. The Chain-Reaction Kit will also teach thinking skills and problem-solving as they figure out designing challenges to move the ball from point A to point B. The Building Cars Kit will help the children design cars and race them using only air power! They will love it, and will learn so much in the process! Funding these activities will help each child feel successful in school!
