My students are smart and capable but sometimes need extra support to do what their peers are doing. I would love to be able to give them headphones and calculators in order to better support their access to curriculum. They have the drive and the commitment but need the tools. Headphones will allow us to listen to audiobooks, conduct research, access videos and interactive lessons and create a calm space. Calculators help us to solve problems, identify errors, and work step by step with complex skills. Both of these together will allow for my students to work towards the same success as their neurotypical peers in a 21st century world.
