We as a class will read and dive into the diversity of each culture that are reflected in each book. At our school we have a variety of different cultures. Since we are a tight knit community, it is important that we have a better understanding of our neighbors. These books will allow us to discuss the commonalities and differences of the life experiences of everyone in the class. This in turn will bring understanding and unity to our classroom community. In a classroom library that is 'under construction', these diverse books are desperately needed in order to represent the children in my class. My sweet students should be represented in everything we do.
